At the end of 2022, Huawei signed a global patent cross-licensing agreement with OPPO and Nokia, which covers basic patents for cellular communication standards including 5G standards.

In August 2023, Huawei and communications giant Ericsson reached a long-term global patent cross-license. The agreement signed by the two parties includes 3G/4G/5G cellular technology, covering a wide range of standard-related basic patents such as 3GPP, ITU, IETF, etc., covering communications. In September 2023, Huawei and Xiaomi announced a global patent cross-licensing agreement, which covers communication technologies including 5G. In November 2023, Huawei and Sharp signed a new long-term global patent cross-licensing agreement. The agreement covers essential patents for cellular standards including 4G and 5G.

In March 2024, Huawei and Amazon signed a patent cross-licensing agreement to resolve the litigation between the two parties. It is reported that the two parties have launched multiple lawsuits in the Wi-Fi field before.

On the same day, Huawei and vivo announced that they had signed a global patent cross-licensing agreement, which covers basic patents for cellular communication standards, including 5G standards.

In addition, OPPO also announced the signing of a global patent cross-licensing agreement with Nokia in January 2024. The agreement covers the standard essential patents of both parties in 5G and other cellular communication technologies.
