On April 22, according to foreign media reports, ASML and the Eindhoven Municipal Government in the Netherlands jointly announced that the two parties had signed a letter of intent to conduct large-scale expansion in the northern part of Eindhoven and near the airport, which will accommodate approximately 20,000 new employees. staff. The expansion project is expected to start in 2027.

Previously, news broke that lithography giant ASML planned to move out of the Netherlands. The Dutch government immediately established a secret working group called "Beethoven Operation" to ease ASML's influence on local labor supply, regulations, policies and regulations in the Netherlands. Supply chain security concerns. The Prime Minister of the Netherlands and the Minister of Economy of the Netherlands were also revealed to have joined this special operation.

The Dutch government announced last month that it would invest US$2.7 billion to improve infrastructure in the Eindhoven area to prevent ASML from moving its business overseas.

Roger Dassen, chief financial officer of ASML, said: "We have always stressed that ASML prefers to keep its core operations in the Netherlands as close as possible to the company's existing locations. The expanded Eindhoven base is located at the company’s expense. Near the headquarters in Dhofen."

A spokesman for the city of Eindhoven confirmed that the letter had been signed and would see a major expansion of a technology park called the Brainport Industries Campus in the north of Eindhoven close to the airport.

ASML is not only the largest company in the Netherlands, but also one of the largest technology companies in Europe. It is also the world's largest manufacturer of lithography machines. Currently, ASML has more than 40,000 employees, 24,000 of whom work in the Netherlands. The company said it needs huge room for expansion as its business will almost double over the next 10 years.
