Micron Technology (Micron) announced the appointment of former TSMC Chairman Liu Deyin as a director.

Liu Deyin has worked at TSMC for more than 30 years and is currently the chairman of J&M Copper Beech Ventures.

Micron Technology Chairman, President and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra issued a press release saying: "Liu Deyin is a visionary leader with deep technical expertise and business acumen. He has held leadership positions in the world's most advanced and sophisticated semiconductor companies for decades and has large-scale wafer fab operation experience. These experiences will help Micron respond to the growth opportunities of AI from data centers to edge computing as it expands its business."

Micron also appointed Christie Simons, a senior audit and certification partner at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu who will retire in May this year, to join its board of directors.

Micron Technology Appoints Mark Liu to Board of Directors

Micron Technology, Inc. today announced that it has appointed two experienced business leaders, Mark Liu and Christie Simons, to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Liu spent more than 30 years at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) in roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President (2004-2012), Co-COO (2012-2013), President and Co-CEO (2013-2018), and Executive Chairman (2018-2024). Under his leadership, TSMC became the world's largest semiconductor foundry. Currently, he is the founder and chairman of J&M Copper Beech Ventures, a multi-strategy investment fund. Mr. Liu began his career at Intel Corporation while the company was developing its 32-bit microprocessor technology. He then moved to AT&T Bell Labs, where he conducted fundamental high-speed electronics research. Mr. Liu's other board positions include the Engineering Advisory Board of the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University and a master's and doctoral degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.
