According to breaking news, Moxing Semiconductor announced its dissolution on November 21. The compensation plan for all employees, including software, IC, and even administration, is N+1. The number of layoffs is estimated to be nearly a hundred people, including dozens of people in branches such as Shenzhen and Shanghai.

It is reported that the reason for the dissolution of Moxing Semiconductor may be related to excessive personnel costs. According to reports, Moxing Semiconductor previously hired high-paying engineers from South Korea and Taiwan, China. The labor costs remained high, but there was no outstanding contribution on the product side.

Applications. Building a semiconductor chip industry chain will also allow TCL to better promote product upgrades. However, the road to self-research of chips is not easy. The dissolution of Moxing Semiconductor is another shattering of a company’s dream of self-research of chips. Coupled with the current weak demand in the end market, competition among chip design companies will become more intense, and more companies will be eliminated.


It is reported that TCL Semiconductor Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by TCL Technology and TCL Industrial with an investment of 1 billion yuan, has been canceled on December 14, 2021.

For TCL to invest in the entire industry chain layout, it will have to invest more in terms of capital than companies that specialize in one link. This also means that it must absorb more talents from different fields, accumulate different technologies, and need to bear greater risks.
