On November 27, Nexperia (Nexperia) official website announced that the Dutch government has approved Nexperia (Nexperia)’s acquisition of Delft startup Nowi.

The Dutch government stated that after evaluation, it will not prevent Nexperia from acquiring Nowi. "There are no legal objections to Nexperia's acquisition of Nowi," Dutch Economic Affairs Minister Micky Adriaansens said in a letter to parliament.

In June this year, the Dutch government investigated the acquisition of Nowi in accordance with the national security law (Vifo Act, also known as the "Wolf Act") that took effect on June 1. The Dutch government said it may order the cancellation of the deal if it is found to affect national security.

“After a long period of uncertainty, the deal to acquire Delft-based start-up Nowi has finally been finalized. The retroactive effect of the Vifo Act only applies to items belonging to military or dual-use projects. From their conclusion It is clear that this is not the case with Nowi's products and technology," Nexperia said in a statement.

Public information shows that Nowi was established in Delft, the Netherlands, in 2016. Its main product is a new energy-harvesting PMIC that can harvest energy from environmental resources such as vibration, radio waves and temperature gradients and use it for Charging low-power devices such as remote controls, wearables, and wireless sensor nodes. Nowi was acquired by Nexperia in November 2022.
